Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
I am in the middle of a divorce. We signed a two year lease on a house for 2000.00 a month. My husband was removed from the property by a police officer in Jan and the protective order I had against him I dropped a month ago. I cannot work because I have a disabled child that has therapy in the home and cannot be left with anyone but respite care. I have no income except what my childsupport and spousal support will be. My ex says because we signed the lease I have to stay there ( he found another place for himself ). I need to know if I will be expected to pay this lease out of what I get in childsupport or if I can find a cheaper place to live. What is the status quo in these type of situations?
thanks
sarah

The landlord will expect payment from someone, so that needs to be considered. Your attorney can look at the whole picture and advise you on how to proceed to get help in paying the bills wherever you go to.
