Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Modifying Custody/ Is it wise to do this without a lawyer?
My ex and I share joint custody of our 3yr. old son. I am wanting to modify our custody agreement to where our son lives with me and he has visitation. We currently switch every Wednesday so we each have him for a week straight. But I am finding that he is leaving our son with other parties while he goes out with friends. It is stated in the divorce decree that we are to follow the parent of first choice rule and he is not doing so. Is it wise to NOT use a lawyer to get this modified? Or would it be best if I used a lawyer?

It is not wise to try and modify child custody without a lawyer. In addition to the modification, it sounds like you have grounds for a contempt citation. Also, upon modification there will be issues concerning child support and exemptions. I am not saying that you can not do this without a lawyer, but you are taking a chance if you do not use one.
