Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
modifying suport, child working
One of my children that I pay support on, dropped out of college in the middle of his freshman year (1 semester). He got a full time job and never went back to class. I did not find out this information until over a year and a half later. I was still paying full amount of court ordered support. Son is now 21. Do I need an emancipation order? And, can I get the amount of support modified (lowered) from the--name removed--he dropped out of school?

Re: modifying suport, child working
Yes, you can get your child who dropped out of college emancipated, unless he is disabled or has reenrolled in college.
If you have other unemancipated children for whom you're paying support, the amount of child support would be recalculated for them.
