Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My mother left my dad at 6 months and fought for sole custody and won because he was a trucker who couldn't be there as much. She left with me and remarried into a abusive relationship and let that man adopt me without my fathers consent. She is now divorced and got her maiden name back and i'm wondering can I have my name back or was that taken away from me due to her choices?

You could ask for a name change in court, but it likely would require your father's consent (the man who adopted you) if you are under 18. If over 18, you can pretty much change your name however and whenever you want through the courts.
