Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Mother is doing possible meth or some kind of drug and moved in with boyfriend that has been locked in mental hospital for cutting himself and being violent more than once since a child. Father will soon be incarcerated for an unknown length. Paternal grandparents and aunt and uncle want custody to be given to them. Maternal grandparents want children returned to mother. Father and grandparents have the children in their custody now. Would it be best for father to give his parental rights to either uncle or grandmother (both are stable) or should family just file for custody on own?

You cannot just sign over rights, that is a myth except if there is a CHINS case pending or an adoption. Family can file for custody or even a guardianship. Hire counsel-this is not the kind of case to pursue without an attorney.
