Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Mothers Rights

My fiance and I split up in November. At the time I was pregnant. I was blessed with a daughter in May. Now my ex-fiance is upset because I chose to not put his name on the birth certificate. He and his family visited us at the hospital, his mother visited us at my house and we went to his house all in the first week. Now he wants me to sign a document declaring paternity. Myself nor anyone in my family have denied that he is the father and we have gone out of our way to allow his family visitation. I just don't understand what more he could possibly want. What are my options concerning this matter?

Re: Mothers Rights

If he is indeed the child's father, by establishing paternity, he will have visitation rights given to him by the court.

He will also have child support duties, regardless of whether you want the money or not.

Hope this helps!
