Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Nationnal Guard Father Visitation Rights
Situation: My wife has two children from two previous marriages. Both of the fathers have bi-weekly, weekend visitation rights. One father works full time, goes to school, and is a member of the national guard. When ever he has something, whether he has to work, Guard weekend, or excessive school work, he wants us to rearrange the weekend to meets his needs. We currently live 200 miles away and drive half the distant every other weekend to meet the fathers.
Do we have a right to tell the father in question ''no'' to changing the vistitation schedule in order to keep everyone on the same schedule?
(The child in question is 4 years old and my wife and I currently have a 6 month old baby that has to make the trip with us every other weekend.)

Re: Nationnal Guard Father Visitation Rights
You can always AGREE to make special accommodations to fit his schedule, but you are not required to.
You need to get a copy of the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines. Those specify the minimums, as far as visitations go, and who does what when.
If you disagree, then the guidelines reign supreme.
You might share a copy of them w/him, too, so that you're working from the same ideas.
You can probably find a copy online. If not, I'll be happy to mail you one.
Best of luck to you!
