Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Hi Im needing to find out about child support, back child support, and if I or my mother needs to file for it. I am 18 and still in High School, and plan on going to college and Law school. My father left before I was born and has never done anything to help my mother raise me. I feel on him that I can get besides his social secruity number, and I dont know if I would even be helped if I can becaue I dont have that. Thanks.
