Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Getting non-court ordered child support

My son's father signed a document drawn up by an attorney stating he will pay child support. It was never brought into court for a Judge to sign. My son's father has paid support sporadically throughout the years but now has stopped all together. My son is 18 now but a senior in High School and will be attending College next year. I would like to know what recourse I have to get him to pay the back support and to continue support for college. I only have his last know address and am having trouble finding him! Can you please help????

Re: Getting non-court ordered child support

You need to hire an attorney as it sounds like this is quite a mess and far beyond what can be provided to you through Lawguru. Chances are that you may be able to obtain reimbursement from the father for some or all of the attorney fees that you may incur if you need to file in court.
