Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Okay...so my boyfriend voluntarily terminated his parental rights 4 years ago, because he had a drug problem and thought he would make a terrible parent. His ex told him, her boyfriend and father of her younger daughter was going to adopt her, but he never did. That was the only reason he terminated his rights. My question is can he ask for reinstatement being that he sign his rights away b/c this other guy was suppose to adopt her and didn't. They did change her name to their last name, but per childs mom she was never adopted. Also, if he can request reinstatement how do we go about it???

Go talk to an attorney and be ready to pay support for the last four years. His rights are not terminate until the adoption takes place, meaning if you are correct, he still has rights and responsibilities.
