Overbearing grandparents

I have a 16 year old daughter. I was never married to her father. We did live together for 11 years and co-parent fine. We have never been to court for visitation nor child support. There are no court orders. My problem is with my parents. When her father or I, we no longer live together, try to impose any form of discipline on our daughter that makes her ''unhappy', my parents get in the middle. This last event was as a result of her repeatedly sneaking out of my house at 2 - 3 a.m. The punishment was that she was going to have to go stay with her father (he is very restrictive of her social life) for a week. Also, her father only lives two blocks away from us. My daughter was not pleased and decided she doesn't want to live with me any longer. Her father and I were going to discuss the situation in the following days. The next day while I was at work, my parents came to my house and removed my daughter and all of her belongings. I went to my parents home and told them she needed to come home with me, or could go to her fathers house. They refused. They said I could call the police, short of that she was staying with them. Advice on next step? We live in Indiana.
