Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
My parents bought me a horse trailer a little over a year ago as a Christmas and birthday present. They are now going through a divorce and they are supposed to sell it and split the money from it because it was purchased with marital assets. The title is in my name and I'm wondering if that is what should happen or if I can keep it since I still use it and don't want to get rid of it.

Until you are named as a party, the court has no jurisdiction over assets owned by you. If you want to hold on to it, you should talk to an attorney in your community to see how best to maintain your claim.
I agree with Jay. As it stands right now, it is yours until a court says that it is not. However, you might want to consider long term implications of the realtionship with your parents. Do they or one of them need the money? If so, you may be jeopardizing your relationship by not giving it up. Tough call.
