Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

paternity

I recently went to apply for child support for my daughter for her mother to pay,, i am the father living in Indiana with custody of my daughter, the legal aid told me i had to prove paternity? what i dont understand is i have never been married and pay child support on 2 other children and they did not have to prove paternity, do i have a right to do that now? the birth certificate on one has been forged and i dont think i am the father of them but yet they did not have to prove paternity to get me to pay child support

Re: paternity

You need to provide more detail before anyone can answer your question. Generally, if you agreed that you were the father, they dont bother with formal proof. Also, you did not indicate whether there was a court determination that you were the father.
