Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Pending divorce
I am now living in Illinois but am pending a divorce in Indiana.my wife has in fact filed for a divorce and I do not have an attorney to represent me due to lack of funds, but it appears that I may have to in order to obtain one. I have thought contacted her attorney's office and also received a letter from them requiring me to send them info what I have in my possession, what bills am I servicing and what bills I plan to service etc.they tell me what I have provided is all in order and the divorce should go on as agreed between me and my wife, and prior to the ACTION Pending date which is 03-14-07, if she is not going to contest it as she and I have agreed upon. Of course her lawyer is obligated to pass any and all info on to her and I do understand that. But what I am concerned with, is that she is now upset with me because I have contacted them and not her, and she has been saying all along ''she'' is running the divorce, but I fear saying anything of that nature to her lawyer, because I do not want to prolong the precedings, I want peace in my life as well as harmony and I have moved on with my life and I want her to do the same. And also want to know who is the person who makes the date of the divorce decree, Please help

Re: Pending divorce
You need to hire an attorney, if for no other reason than to review the settlement agreement and confirm that you are being treated fairly in accordance with your wishes and the law.
The date of a hearing is set by the court, but often coordinated between the lawyers and partes.
