If two people have a child out of wedlock and the father abandons the mother during her pregnancy, what are the chances of him being able to get rights to the child if a paternity test is done after the child is born?

Re: Help!!!!!!
It really is not important that the putative father "abandoned" the mother during pregnancy. Once a paternity suit is filed, then the court will establish child support and visitation rights so that if the father desires to have a relationship, one can be begun.
