Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Power of parent in relation to doctors investigating health of parent's child

Let's say that the doctors are concerned about a mental disorder or eating disorder that Chris has. Chris' parent, however, believes that he/she can deal with this disorder that Chris has without the intervention of the doctors, although Chris as well as his parent are constantly called by the doctors, who demand that Chris receive further medical attention. Can Chris' parent have the legal power to say to the doctors to stop their investigation of Chris and just leave the situation alone? If not, what reprecussions could result from the parents telling the doctors to stop their ongoing obsession with the illness of Chris? Chris wants the doctors to stop communicating and disturbing him as well so the feeling of Chris and his parents is mutual. Is it true that without the parents' consent, although Chris has a below-average weight, the doctors are powerless in trying to help Chris?

The doctors could contact Children and Family Services if they feel that neglect is an issue.
