Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Is it possible to have a private meeting with a judge? The reason I ask is because a friend of mine is going through custody battle and she has had several lawyers including the 2 top rated custody attorneys in this area and she still didn't get anywhere. This has been going on for 2 years and she has spent over $70,000, 50 of that on the number 1 rated lawyer in this area. She has seemingly endless boxes of evidence against her ex-husband and none of her attorneys would submit any of the evidence. She is a single mother and needs to find a way to get through to the judge because she can't afford to keep going through this. And with the evidence that she has there should be no reason that the judge should even consider giving the father even partial custody.

No. She cannot have a private meeting with the judge. Our rules do not allow for what is known as an "ex parte" communication. I might add that evidence is submitted at a hearing and your post does not state that there was an evidentiary hearing wherein the attorneys failed to present the evidence. So it could be that the attorneys have not had an opportunity to present the evidence. It could also be that the evidence is not admissible.
