protecting assets in a separation

My daughter is in the process of purchasing a house. How can she write the mortgage so her estranged husband can not claim the house as a marital asset?

Re: protecting assets in a separation

I would say that daughter needs to get her divorce filed so that she does not worry about such things. It can be considered marital property and the mortgage can be considered marital debt. The court can determine the date of separation to be when she moved out or the date that she filed for divorce.
