Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

punishment

i have a 12and 10 year old they get 6 week visitation with their father. during their visit the girls are punished from their stepmother for talking about my side of the family they are put in a corner for talking of their dog we have here. they are not allowed to call me when they are missing me there is a 700 miles differance. when i do call they are told to get off the phone 10 min.after i call. and the stepmom always plays with them when i am trying to talk their father is just as loud and noisy.this all came out in consuling right before they left to go. also the step makes the girls lay down in bed to check their privates for infections. they are always taking me to court for custody and calling CPS on me. is their any thing i can do to get this to stop. i am just fed up with it.

Re: punishment

You the custodial parent has just as much right to reasonable communication with the children during the non-custodial parent's extended summer visitation. If he is not allowing such contact, you have two options - one is to come up with an alternative method of contact other than by telephone and the other is to file a contempt against him. If he is the parent living out of state, then it inconveniences him to come back for a contempt hearing. If you are the parent out of state, the judge will know you are serious about your complaint because the time in court is expensive for you.
