Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

question about children

my sisters children were taken by cps for the 2nd time. the first time cps gave them to us while she got help. everything went well during the time we had the children. I am married and have 4 children myself. cps has my sisters children again and won't let me and my husband have them because my sister was staying with me when the kids were taken this last time. she is no longer staying with me and they know this but they still say that we can't have them because she was at the time. what happened during that time she was with us at our home and had the kids removed from her care had nothing to do with us.

what can we do if anything?

Re: question about children

You can accompany her to the CHINS hearing and be available when she asks the judge for family placement of the children. You can hire an attorney to appear for you and present a plan wherein you care for the children. The Judge may prefer to have family placement regardless of CPS position.
