Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

How to receive unpaid child support?

My ex-husband is asking me to sign a form stating that he is finished paying child support for our 21 year old daughter. After reviewing the child support payment history, there have been some years that he did not make all payments. Do I have the right to receive from him the amounts that were not paid in those previous years, and how do I go about getting this taken care of? The divorce took place in Indiana, I now live in Ohio.

Re: How to receive unpaid child support?

As the divorce was in Indiana, you must consult an Indiana attorney for collction advice. If it were Ohio, you would have to ask the court to reduce the arrears to a lump sum judgment, and then garnish his wages, or attach property.
