Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I was recently kicked out of the house I was sharing with my boyfriend. He claims I was not on the lease and is threatening to change locks. I have a key, mail that went there in my name and utility bills there in my name. All of my property is still in the house can he hold my things hostage? And how can i get them back....

You can hire a lawyer to send him a letter. The fact is that you are a subtenant entitled to 30 days notice as a month to month tenancy. He probably wont beleieve you, thus the need to have a lawyer send him a letter. Another option is to sue him for the value of your belongings.

You might also contact the local police department and see whether they would escort you so that you can get your things.

I also do not know what you mean by kicked out of the house, but if he used physical force to remove you or you are in fear of him, you may be able to get a protective order that will give you temporary possession of the residence.
