Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Recording a conversation

Hello,

I had read that a man used a recording of someone's voice, for his case in Divorce. am wondering if it is legal to record a conversation, in Indiana, without the other person knowing that they are being recorded. thanks

Re: Recording a conversation

As between private individuals in Indiana, a recording may be made so long as one of the parties to the conversation has been put on notice of it and consents. If you are one of the parties to the conversation and who is also making the recording, this should be regared as lawful. However, keep in mind that use in a court room still subjects it to a hearsy objection which will have to be dealt with by the attorneys and judge.
