Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Relocating to Another State

My husband and I are wanting to relocated to GA. I have a daughter from a previous relationship. I know there is a 60 day waiting period after I fill out a form that goes to the court and to my daughter's father. If her father and I agree on terms can we have the agreement notorized and submit it to the judge and not have to wait the 60 days?

Re: Relocating to Another State

You are confused about the terms of the Relocation Statute. However, if you and the non-custodial parent have an agreement you can submit it in the form of an order for the court to approve.

You may want to hire an attorney to prepare the order. If everything is in agreement, it should not be very expensive.

Good luck.
