Relocation

Recently divorced with a minor child. We have joint custody me a primary care taker. Support is paid when he chooses along with other debt divided in our divorce. I want to relocate to another state with my employer. Due to financial reasons. Is this impossible to due? Plus at what age are they not required to go with the other parent by there own choice with me not having an recourse?

You will need to file and serve the appropriate notice of your intent to relocate. If the other parent files an objection, there will be a hearing. There is never an age when the child can unilaterally make that decision. However, after age 14, the child's choice is given a significant amount of weight by the court.
