Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Resign Parenthood

I have one 16yr old adopted daughter who has run away, lived with two separate families. Is now using drugs, lieing stealing and attends school when she wants to. She is now living with friends and want to once again live with someone else. My question is this.Is it possible to resign as her parent, making her once again a ward of the state. If so,how is this done?

Re: Resign Parenthood

You can voluntarily terminate your parental rights and ask that she be made a ward of the state.

Contact your local Office of Family and Children to find out the particulars.

Best of luck to you.
