Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

What rights would my husband have concerning a woman who for 10 years has said he is not the father of her 10yr old son, and has now approached me saying he IS the father. She has known "all the chills life" that my husband was the father. She AND her husband have THREATENED me, that they were going to cause all the financial burden on our family that they could by taking us to court. SHE asked me to be the for between in getting an at home paternity test. She said she just wanted the boy to know his real father. They stated alot in text about taking us to court and collecting back child support. We live in the state of indiana. Legally, what will they be able to do? Also, what are my husband rights in protecting our family? Please help.

He needs to spend the money to sit down with a lawyer. There are too many variables to answer in a posting on an internet website. This is important enough to spend the money, for your sake and thesake of the child. He may have to pay support, etc., and he needs to deal with this now, even if the woman backs off now.

This is a complicated situation and it would be impossible to address your issues in this kind of forum. I strongly suggest that you and your husband consult a local attorney about your rights.
