Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My son 17, has dropped out of high school. Has recently been arested and is on probation with the juvenile justice center for drugs and alcohol issues. He does hold a full time job and earns $300 a week. He lives with his mother and step father full time. I was against him droping out of school and clearly have no say in the raising of Rick. My child support is current but I have recently lost my job and am still expected to pay $135 a week in child support. Is my obligation for child support until he turns 21 or 18 and I would assume child support is based on potential income not unemployment ?
