Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My son was sent a letter to submit to a DNA test to determine if ihe was the father of a child in the State of Illinois. He was determined to be the biological father and has been paying child support for a couple of years. We have never had contact with this child and never will. The mother is now married and they are raising the son as their own. The child has never used our surname not sure if my son was even listed as the father. My question is if they want to adopt this child what has to be done. He does not have any objections to this and it would be better for all involved.
