Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

use of name

My son's former wife had a baby after their divorce, and gave that child our last name. The child is not my sons--she claims she is not for sure of the father, therefor she gave the child her last name, which she still used her 2nd. married name, ours. Is there anyway to have this changed. The child is 4 years old and very confused. When I call or see my grandson, she ask if I am her grandmother, since we have the last same name.

Re: use of name

There is no way to have the name changed. You need to talk to the mom about explaining that she gave her the same last name because it would be easier for everyone, but that your son is not her father and you are not the grandmother.
