Spouce adoption

As a gay man, can I adopt my spouse so he can leagly recieve my estate without taxes

Any adult (no matter sexual persuasion) can adopt any other adult who consents to being adopted. However, your partner as your child only inherits the first $100,000 in Indiana without the imposition of inheritance tax and the equivalent of some $675,000 for federal purposes before the estate tax applies. But this is certainly a good solution to your situation.
