Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Spouse is a Gambling Addict

My husband is an anesthesiologist

and earns approx. $500,000 per

year. We have been married since

December of 1995. He has gambled

(betting on sports) our entire

marriage. We have lost one home. I

have paid a bookie $60,000 cash in a

Toys R Us parking lot to get him to

leave us alone. We filed for divorce in

February of 2008 and have not

settled. My question is, since Indiana

does not pay alimony is there a way

that I can sue him for theft/fraud.

He has been working since 1995 as

an anesthesiologist and yet we have

0 assets and probably a million dollars

worth of debt. I had quit my career

in 1995 and had not worked outside

the home until last year. I teach art

at a Catholic grade school and make

$25,000 a year. We have two

children ages 6 and 9.

You really should discuss this with your divorce attorney who has familiarity with all of the issues.
