Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My Step daughter moved to her mothers after she turned 18, because we wont lie to keep her on our medicaid, now her mother is going to "take every dollar we have" in her words. Can she do that? She makes more money than us and she still owes us about $1500.00 in back support.
