Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Step Parent Adoption

husband wants to adopt my boys- 1st boy's father is relinquishing his parental rights completely, 2nd son legally has no father, no paternity has ever been established, etc. I was not married to either person. With no legal father for either son will it be hard for my husband to adopt them and where and how would I start? Please help.

Re: Step Parent Adoption

Your step parent adoption should run smoothly once the following items are prepared: (1) a consent to the adoption from the father relinquishing his parental rights; (2) notice of publication to the other named/unnamed father; and (3) home study on your parental unit, with a criminal background check of your current husband.

I specialize in adoptions, so if you have other questions, please contact.

I hope this information has helped!
