Supervised Visitation
I am the custdial parent of two kids,8 & 10 yrs.Their father is currently in the counties work release program and has been in & out of jail most of his life.He is an alocoholic who has put our children in harms way several times. He is also very unstable and has never been able to provide a safe & secure home of his own for our children to visit him at.He is currently paying his child support obligation but he is more than $10,000 in arrears at this time. Can you plz tell me what the procedures are for asking the court for supervised visitation?
Thank-You.

Re: Supervised Visitation
As the facts given seem to be that he has a troubled criminal past and there are also other issues with substance absue, you will have to convince the court that this parent is a present danger or risk to the minor children requiring what you seek. A petition will be required to be filed with the court asking for supervised visitation supported by the facts and law. Then the court will have a hearing and review the eveidence presented. If you are really serious about this, seek out an attorney to assist you. The sooner, the better.
