supervised visitation

When being the ''supervisor'' in supervised visitation for grandchild to see father at my home when (mother) parent is told that i am home maybe in bathroom do they actually need to see my happy face before she will drop off child.

It certainly seems reasonable that the custodial parent would want to confirm that the "supervising adult" is present.
