I am only 16. but I am pregnant and i was told once the baby was born i could move out because i was considered an adult. I need to know if that is true or not. and what kind of legal actions i can do at my age.

Re: Teenage mothers

You are not an adult until your 18th birthday, unless your local juvenile court approves a plan for your emancipation. You have the right to file a paternity suit against the father either before or after your child is born, but you must do so with the assistance of your custodial parent as your "next friend". In order to have health insurance for your child after it is born, you may need to give your parents a guardianship over the child so they can put the child on their health insurance policy.
