Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Terminating parental rights

I have a 10 year old adopted son that is currently in a mental health hospital because of holding plastic over my 3 year old son's mouth and nose, among other things. He has been diagnosed with conduct disorder. His psychiatrist recommends long term residential care. Our insurance is almost maxed out and even 50% of the $1,253. per day is not helping. I have went to our local DFC office and was not given any help. I think our best decision would be to try to make him a ward of the state, so that he would qualify for Medicaid and be allowed to remain in residential care. Is this possible? Thank you for your time.

Yes. Contact your county's Office of Family and Children, and they can direct you on how to do this.

Best of luck to you. Sounds like a tough situation.
