Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I am thinkin of moving out of state and have a 3 year old. her dad and i aren't married, never been to court over custody etc. she lives with me but does see him some. is there anything that says i can't move out of state? can he say no i can't take our daughter?

You have to give a specific notice of your intent to relocate. He has the right to object. If he does, the court will determine whether it is in the best interest of the child to permit the relocation. Feel free to call and make an appointment if you need help with this..

If there is a paternity order establishing him as the father or he signed a paternity affidavit in a timely way, he has rights and you need to see an attorney to discuss this. If there is no order or signed affidavit, you can move. However, he could file a paternity action in Indiana and ultimately you could end up having a court battle in Indiana. See a local attorney before you move.
