Unknowingly signed my child away, Will pay for life now!

Had baby in 1993 by ex husband. 1994 married a different man. His family grew attached to baby. 1995 he drew up papers to have baby's last name changed so that he could put him on insurance. He pressured me, signed 2 weeks later. Voluntary joint pet. to est.Paternity. Lady assured me I could get tests done in future. 1996 divorced. I had no council. we got joint w/ him having physical. 1997 i retained atty to set aside VJPEP. Time passed, no response from atty. 2 years passed, he basically said sorry, i cant help you. RECENT DISCOVERY, 1 mo. ago I found out that I did have a court date, but it was dismissed by my council a day before. 2 months after I retained him! 5 years have passed since I started it. I just want my son back. Mr. C is NOT a good father and uses boy as pawn. Boy wants to know real father. Is it too late for us to take this back to court?

Dear Madam,

You could try filing a motion to set aside the judgment based upon excusable neglect as you were not aware of the court date and that your attorney dismissed the case.
