Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My wife left me saying that I was a good guy, but she just couldn't do this anymore. It's her, not me, and maybe we could be friends. She then moved out 2 days after telling me she was leaving into another county. She wouldn't consider separation or counseling, even though I asked her too. I still really don't have much of an idea why she left besides she told me I was too controlling and that I accused her of cheating on me. I didn't accuse her of cheating on me, and I don't think I was controlling. I think this was a big misunderstanding, and if we could sit down and talk about it, we could work this out. We never really sat down and talked about it, or really argued about it, or anything. I, along with lots of our friends and co-workers, was totally shocked about her leaving me. I want to know if a divorce as ever been denied because I do think we could work this out, and if the husband has gotten half the bills and alimony from his wife. There is only 1 credit card in both our names. The rest are in mine, but we agreed that both of us would pay for them, plus the utilities. Since she left me, I am looking at bankruptcy, as well as possibly losing my house and/or car. We were barely making it before she left, and now that she left me, I'm finacially screwed. I would like to know my possibilities of the divorce being denied, and the chances, if the divorce were to go thru, of getting half of the credit card debt, along with untilities from her.

You are not going to be able to prevent the divorce legally. There is a presumption in Indiana that all debts regardless of whose name the debt is in are marital debts and should be split 50/50. However, the presumption can be rebutted. You need to see an attorney after compiling a financial statement so that he or she can give you an indication of where you stand. Good luck.
