Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
ex wife is moving
I have 3 children, 2 daughters ages 17 and 14 and a son, age 11. My ex wife is planning to move 100 miles away from me next summer to marry her new boy friend. At this time we live about 20 miles away from each other. My 17 yr old daughter will finish high school next year and plans to move in with me and attend college. My 14 yr old daughter will finish middle school next year and would like to stay with me so she can attend the same school she has been going to with her frinds. My son wants to move with my ex wife. What can we do about my daughter not wanting to move. It is fine that she moves in with me. She does not get along with my ex wife. My ex wife is planning for her to move with her. My son is fine with moving away, although I don't want him to as I would not see him much. What sugestions can you give to address this. Are there any legal rights for me. We have joint custody abd I see them 20% of the time. I have always paid my child support.

Re: ex wife is moving
I compliment you and your ex-wife for cooperating in making sure that you maintain an active relationship with your kids.
There are a lot of options available to you. First of all, she is required to follow the relocation statute. Secondly, you may wish to petition the court for modification of custody.
At ages 14 and 17, the court the girls' choice to live with you will be given a lot of weight.
You should contact an attorney locally to discuss your situation in more detail.
