Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

This woman wont give my daughter back to me

A woman who used to be my foster mother was given temporary custody of my daughter by me. I signed a paper I made that stated she (caregiver) could take her (daughter) to the hospital, enroll her in school, it was your basic temporary custody. It has been almost 4 years, I am nearly finished in college, and se doesn't want to give my daughter back. Should I take her to court, or do I need to file some type of form revoking my temporary guardianship I ordered, how do I go about getting her back? Oh, and by the way, I had regular phone conversations with them, and my daughter, and sent her(caregiver) money to help support my daughter while I was college. She (daughter) went to go live there when she was 4, and she is 8 now. I know she (caregiver) is going to fight me tooth and nail, my daughter has been calling her (caregiver) mommy at her (caregiver) insistence for the last 6 months. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. And, I live in Texas and my daughter lives in Indiana. Thank you.

Re: This woman wont give my daughter back to me

I suggest that you come to their house with the local police department and get your daughter now!

She has no legal right to her based on the information that you have provided. There is no court order that grants her custody.
