Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I have a two year old in which his father has seen five times. My question is how to go about revoking parental rights. The bad part is I didn't go after him for support because I dont want to "make" him be a dad . Also he is irresponsible and unreliable and an over all poor kinda example. I want to avoid him flying by in and out of sons life when ever he feels like it. Hes never been there and never a card or anything. I don't have to let him see him but have given him more than a few chances.. Haven't heard from him for 6 months and a year went by before that.

No paternity has been set and my boy has my last name. I just want him away from us due to emotional ups and downs whenever he decides to show. litterly shows up after a year...out of the blue how can I stop this?

If the two of you did not sign a paternity affidavit, you were not married and no paternity case has been filed, he has no rights. Those rights will only come into play if he or you file for paternity and his fatherhood is legally established.
