Legal Question in Medical Leave in Indiana

Terminated on FMLA

I work for a hospital/physician network and while on FMLA I was terminated for printing my disability form from my electronic medical record (I submitted it to HR for my disability reimbursement because the doctor wasn't getting it done).

Does FMLA protection continue after termination until the 12 weeks are up, and am I entitled to the same health insurance benefit until the FMLA would run out?

As it stands my employer says I have no FMLA benefit now due to termination and I have to take Cobra as of the termination date although I would otherwise still be on FMLA.

No, I think you are stuck with COBRA.

This sounds like a pretext firing, so consult local counsel.
