Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

I just bought a used car from a person and come to find out the airbag light that show that the airbag is not working has been disengaged by taking a screw driver and knocking out the LCD light. I have the car at the dealer and they are checking into the matter to see if the airbag is even in the car. I was wondering I have an email from the previous owner stating that there was a small fender bender before he got the car and none of the airbags where blown. I bought this car for my 15 year old daughter to learn to drive on and all I can do is think what if there is no airbag and she would have been in acident. I have a call to this person to see if he will help pay on the repairs but I was just wondering the law - air bags repairs.

This may be fraud, plain and simple. You should demand your money back. What else did this guy cover up?
