Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

civil case witness

An attorney asked to interview me as a witness in a civil case & I have a witness compensation question. I prepared a proposal for a previous employer for customer ''x''. This customer did not like the price, but had already signed an agreement with a 3rd party for an event. The event was cancelled & contract broken by customer X with the 3rd party & the 3rd party is taking customer X to court. If I give an interview and have to testify in court for 2 days, what can I expect as compensation? Am I considered an expert witness? The attorney said it's my duty and I will be paid mileage...doesn't sound correct to me???

Re: civil case witness

the attorney is correct. You were not hired because of your general expertise, rather you were hired because of your participation in preparing the proposal.
