Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana
I was given a motorcycle 3 years ago as a wedding gift. This was gift was given to me in front of our entire wedding party. Since this was given to me I have not recieved the title from my mother in law. I recently found out that the motorcycle has a lien against it and I will not be able to obtain a title for it. Is there anything I can do from a legal standpoint to get the title into my name? Or what other route can I go to recieve either a monetary value for what the bike is worth in order to buy another one, or just get the title in my name?

You can get a title for it; it will just be subject to the lien. Then, you pay the debt and you have the motorcycle. You were given a bike with a debt against it; you do not have the right to a free and clear bike.
