Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Power of Attorney

my husband has to appear in court for evidentiary hearing RE inability to pay child suppt d/t medical disability. Can't afford Lawyer, but due to the prescribed narcotics and other sedating meds for pain, unable to be clear minded and speak well for himself. What form, if any can we use in order for the court to allow me to speak on his behalf?

I don't think there is a way to legally allow you to speak for your husband unless you are an attorney. However, legal or not, it happens all the time. So, try this. Go with your husband. Take all his prescriptions. And tell it to the judge. Maybe the judge will let you act more or less as an interpreter if not an advocate. Good luck.
