Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Settlement interest, etc.

What does state or county (marion county) law stipulate as the rate of interest on judgments? How is interest figured? The case has dragged on for years. Is it an annual rate cummulative from year to year? Also, if it is stipulated that the settlement be confidential, what action can ne taken if one party breaks the confidence?

Re: Settlement interest, etc.

Since the case is still pending, there is no interest unless this is a contract case and the contract has a provision for interest. Post judgment interest is 8%.

Please see Inidana Code 24-4.6 You should also ask this question of your attorney since he or she have the most knowledge of the facts in your case.
